(Category-A) ADMISSION THROUGH ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

The University will hold Entrance Examination on May 16, 17, 18 and 19, 2015 for admission to various full-time programmes of study at the following 51 cities : Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Dimapur, Gangtok, Guwahati, Goa, Gorakhpur, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Imphal, Indore, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Katihar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Pant Nagar, Patna, Pondicherry, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Secunderabad,
Shillong, Shimla, Silchar, Siliguri, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Udaipur, Varanasi, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. In addition, the University will hold entrance examination at Kathmandu (Nepal).

SCHOOLS AND PROGRAMMES OF STUDY :

I. SCHOOL OF INTERNATIONAL STUDIES
(A) M.PHIL/PH.D. IN : INTERNATIONAL POLITICS, INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION,DIPLOMACY AND DISARMAMENT, POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY; INTERNATIONAL LEGAL STUDIES; INTERNATIONAL TRADEAND DEVELOPMENT; SOUTH ASIAN STUDIES; INNER ASIAN
STUDIES; INDO-PACIFIC STUDIES(SOUTH EAST ASIAN/SOUTHWEST PACIFIC); CHINESE, JAPANESE & KOREAN STUDIES; WEST ASIAN STUDIES; AFRICAN STUDIES; CANADIAN, UNITED STATES AND LATIN AMERICAN STUDIES; EUROPEAN STUDIES; AND RUSSIAN &
CENTRAL ASIAN STUDIES.
ELIGIBILITY:
 (a) For Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament:
Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master’s degree
in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.
(b) For Centre for International Legal Studies: LL.B. (Three Year) degree after Bachelor’s degree with at least 55% marks or an
LL.B. (Five year) degree with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an M.A. with International Law as one of the subjects with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an LL.M. degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.
(c) For Centre for International Trade & Development: Master's degree in Economics with at least 50% marks and familiarity with Mathematics and Statistics upto Bachelor’s level.
 (d) For Centre for South Asian Studies, Centre for Indo-Pacific Studies and Centre for Inner Asian Studies:  Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.
(e) For Canadian and Latin American Studies: Master’s degree in
Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations and other allied subject in Social Sciences and Humanities with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 60% marks.
(f) For US Studies: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations, Humanities with at least 50% marks.
(g) All other Centres: Master’s degree in Political Science, History, Economics, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master’s degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master’s degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.

(B) M.A. in : POLITICS (with specialization in International Studies)

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

(C) M.A. in : ECONOMICS (with specialization in World Economy)

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree (with 50% marks in aggregate) in the following subjects:
Economics(Honours) with Mathematics as subsidiary subject; Mathematics(Hons.) with Economics as a subsidary subject; or Statistics(Hons.) with Mathematics and Economics as subsidiary subjects. Admission will be denied to candidates who fail to meet the above
eligiblitiy criteria.
II. SCHOOL OF LANGUAGE, LITERATURE AND CULTURE STUDIES

(A) M.PHIL./PH.D. in : FRENCH, GERMAN, ARABIC, RUSSIAN, PERSIAN, CHINESE, URDU, HINDI, TAMIL, HINDI TRANSLATION, ENGLISH, LINGUISTICS, JAPANESE, KOREAN AND SPANISH.

ELIGIBILITY : (i) M.Phil./Ph.D. in Languages/Subjects other than English, Linguistics and Hindi Translation: Master’s degree in the concerned language/subject with at least 50% marks.
(ii) M.Phil./Ph.D. in English: Master's Degree in English or Linguistics or
Sociology or History or Political Science or Philosophy or Folklore or Film & Communication Studies or Culture Studies or Comparative Literature with at least 55% marks.
(iii) M. Phil/ Ph.D. in Linguistics: Master's Degree in Linguistics or any other discipline with at least 50% marks.
(iv) M. Phil/Ph.D. in Hindi Translation: Master's degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with 50% marks and English or any Indian language as one of the subject at B.A. level other than Hindi or Master's degree in any Indian/ Foreign language with 50% marks and Hindi as one of the subject at B. A. level.

(B) M.Phil. in PORTUGUESE

ELIGIBILITY: Master's degree in Portuguese with at least 50% marks or Master's degree in
any other Romance Language (Italian, Spanish, French, Romanian) or in English with atleast
50% marks and an Advanced Diploma in Portuguese with atleast 50% marks.

(C) M.A. in: ARABIC, CHINESE, ENGLISH, FRENCH, GERMAN, HINDI, JAPANESE, KOREAN,
LINGUISTICS, PERSIAN, RUSSIAN, SPANISH AND URDU.

ELIGIBILITY :
(i) M.A. in English and Linguistics: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

(ii) M.A. in German: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks with adequate proficiency in German.

 (iii) M.A. other than English, Linguistics and German: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at
least 45% marks with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.

(D) B.A. (HONS.) in : ARABIC, CHINESE, FRENCH, GERMAN, JAPANESE, KOREAN, PERSIAN, RUSSIAN, SPANISH (WITH ENTRY POINTS TO BOTH 1st AND 2nd YEAR) AND B.A. (HONS.) 1ST YEAR IN PUSHTO.

ELIGIBILITY : (i) For B.A. (Hons.) : (1st Year) : (a) Senior School Certificate (10+2) or
equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks. OR
(b) Certificates issued by Madrasas mentioned in the Prospectus with at least 45% marks.
(ii) For B.A. (Hons.) : (2nd Year) : (i) B.A.(Hons.) 2nd Year in German: First year of
Bachelor's degree or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 50%
marks under 10+2+3 pattern of education with adequate proficiency in German.
(ii) B.A.(Hons.) 2nd Year other than German: First year of Bachelor's degree or an
examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 45% marks under 10+2+3 pattern
of education with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.
III. SCHOOL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

(A) M.PHIL./PH.D. : ECONOMIC STUDIES AND PLANNING ; HISTORICAL STUDIES (ANCIENT
HISTORY, MEDIEVAL HISTORY, MODERN HISTORY); POLITICAL STUDIES; REGIONAL
DEVELOPMENT (GEOGRAPHY, ECONOMICS AND POPULATION STUDIES); SOCIAL SYSTEMS
(SOCIOLOGY); EDUCATIONAL STUDIES (PSYCHOLOGY, SOCIOLOGY, ECONOMICS AND
HISTORY OF EDUCATION); SOCIAL MEDICINE AND COMMUNITY HEALTH; PHILOSOPHY;
DISCRIMINATION AND EXCLUSION STUDIES; STUDIES IN SCIENCE POLICY; WOMEN'S
STUDIES; AND MEDIA STUDIES.
ELIGIBILITY : Masters degree in the subject concerned with at least 50% marks; or Master’s
degree in allied subjects or Humanities with at least 55% marks; or Masters degree in Natural
Sciences with at least 60% marks. For Centre for Studies in Science Policy: Master's
degree in Social Science or Humanities or Law or Management with 55% marks or
Master's degree in Natural Sciences or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or
Medicine with 60% marks. For Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health
(M.Phil./Ph.D. in Social Science in Health): Masters degree in social sciences or other
disciplines allied to public health (as given on page 34) with 55% marks.
 For Centre for Women Studies: Master's degree in Social Science or Humanities or Law with at least 50%
marks.
For Centre for the Study of Discrimination and Exclusion: Masters degree in Social Sciences with at least 50% marks. For Centre for Media Studies: Masters degree in Social Sciences or Humanities or Law or Cultural Studies or Media Studies with at least 50% marks.

(B) MPH(MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH)/PH.D.

ELIGIBILITY : MBBS degree with at least 50% marks or M.Sc. degree in Nursing with at least
50% marks.

(C) M.A. in : ECONOMICS, GEOGRAPHY, HISTORY, POLITICAL SCIENCE, SOCIOLOGY,
PHILOSOPHY AND DEVELOPMENT & LABOUR STUDIES.

ELIGIBILITY :

 (a) M.A. in Geography and Sociology: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% marks. (b) M.A. in Economics:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50%
marks. Knowledge of Mathematics at 10+2 level is expected and will be tested for in the
Entrance Examination. (c) M.A. in Political Sciences: Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3
pattern of education with at least 50 % marks in Social sciences and 55 % marks for those
who have Bachelor’s Degree in science and technology disciplines. (d) M.A. in Philosophy:
Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks in Social
Sciences and Humanities and 55% marks in Science & Technology disciplines. (e) M.A. in
History and Development & Labour Studies: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline under
10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

IV. SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES

(A) M.PHIL./PH.D. INAREASOF INTERDISCIPLINARYRESEARCH INMOLECULAR BIOLOGY,
GENETIC ENGINEERING, PLANT BIOTECHNOLOGY, GENETICS, DEVELOPMENTAL BIOLOGY,
CELL BIOLOGY, IMMUNOLOGY, NEUROBIOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY, RADIATIONAND CANCER
BIOLOGY, BIO-PHYSICSAND STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY, ECOLOGY.

ELIGIBILITY : M.Sc. or equivalent degree, with at least 55% marks or equivalent grades, in
Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics or Physical Sciences, as well as to those with M.B.B.S or
M. Tech. or M.Sc. (Agriculture) or M. Sc. (Veterinary Sciences) degree with 55% marks.

(B) M.Sc. in LIFE SCIENCES :

ELIGIBILITY :  Bachelor’s (B. Sc. or B Tech or equivalent) in Biological,
Physical or Agricultural Sciences or Biotechnology under the 10+2+3 pattern of education with
at least 55% marks.

V. SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES

(A) M.PHIL./PH.D. IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES INCLUDING INTERDISCIPLINARYAREAS OF
BIOLOGY(ECOLOGY, BIOTECHNOLOGY, BIOPHYSICS, BIOREMEDIATION), CHEMISTRY (AIR,
WATER, SOIL POLLUTION), GEOLOGYAND PHYSICS.

ELIGIBILITY : M.Sc. degree or equivalent in any branch of basic or applied science or MBBS
or B.Tech. /B.E. with minimum 55% marks.

(B) M.Sc. in ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCES : AN INTERDISCIPLINARY COURSE WITH
ENVIRONMENTAL ORIENTATION, DRAWN FROM RELEVANT AREAS OF BIOLOGICAL,
CHEMICAL, EARTH AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES.

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied science under 10+2+3
pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

VI. SCHOOL OF COMPUTER AND SYSTEMS SCIENCES

(A) M.PHIL./PH.D. & M.TECH/PH.D.

ELIGIBILITY : Master's degree in Computer Science or Mathematics or Statistics or
Operational Research or in any branch of Science or Bachelor's degree in any branch of
Engineering or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with at least 55% marks.

(B) M.C.A. (MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATIONS)

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics
under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

VII. SCHOOL OF PHYSICAL SCIENCES

(A) PRE-PH.D./PH.D. IN PHYSICAL SCIENCES/CHEMICAL SCIENCES/MATHEMATICAL
SCIENCES.

ELIGIBILITY :

 (a) For Physical Sciences: M.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry or
Mathematics, with at least 55% marks. Candidates having majored in Physics or Chemistry
should have had Mathematics at least up to the B.Sc. level. Exceptions can be made in case
of applicants with B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical) degrees provided they successfully qualify
the entrance examination.

 (b) For Chemical Sciences, M.Sc. degree in Chemistry or
Physics, with at least 55% marks. Candidates majoring in Chemistry should have specialization
in Analytical/Organic/Inorganic/Physical Chemistry/Chemical Physics/Polymer Chemistry at the
Master’s level.

(c) For Mathematical Sciences, M.Sc. degree in Mathematics, with at least
55% marks.

(B) M.Sc. in PHYSICS

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree (with Physics as one of the subjects) under the 10+2+3
pattern of education with 55% marks in the aggregate (or in Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics combined), or in Physics Honours. Applicants with B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical/
Mechanical/Computer) degree can also apply.

VIII. SCHOOL OF ARTS & AESTHETICS

(A) M.PHIL./PH.D.:The School offers M.Phil./Ph.D. programmes in three different streams -
Visual Studies, Theatre and Performance Studies and Cinema Studies. (Admission to the
M.Phil./Ph.D. is through a separate entrance examination for each discipline followed by a
viva-voce.)

ELIGIBILITY: Masters degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks.

(B) M.A. IN ARTS & AESTHETICS: The School offers M.A. programme with cross disciplinary
study of the Visual, Cinematic and Performing Arts.

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

IX. SCHOOL OF COMPUTATIONAL AND INTEGRATIVE SCIENCES

(A)                PRE-PH.D/PH.D IN COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGY AND BIOINFORMATICS

ELIGIBILITY: (a) Master’s Degree in any branch of Sciences such as Biology, Chemistry,
Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science/MCA. (b) MBBS or BHMS or equivalent degree as recognized by Government Council such as MCI. (c) B.Tech or B.E. or
equivalent degree in any branch of Engineering, B.Pharma degree or equivalent. Minimum
requirement is 55% marks in the above examinations, Further Mathematics as a
subject till Class XII is compulsory.

(B)                INTEGRATED M.SC.PH.D. PROGRAMME IN COMPUTATIONAL AND INTEGRATIVE SCIENCES

ELIGIBILITY: A minimum of 55% marks in Bachelor’s degree in any branch of Basic and Applied
Science or Technology, including medicine and engineering disciplines.

X. SCHOOL OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

PRE-PH.D./PH.D. IN AREAS OF MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND GENETIC ENGINEERING;
TRANSCRIPTION CONTROL, GENE REGULATION; MOLECULAR BIOLOGY OF INFECTIOUS
DISEASES, VACCINE DEVELOPMENT; PROTEIN ENGINEERING, PROTEIN STRUCTURE,
STABILITYAND FOLDING; BIOCHEMICAL ENGINEERING, METABOLIC ENGINEERING AND
BIOPROCESS TECHNOLOGY; TRANSCRIPTION AND HUMAN BIOLOGY; STRUCTURAL
BIOLOGY AND BIOINFORMATICS; CELL SIGNALLING; CANCER BIOLOGY; MOLECULAR
BASIS OF HUMAN VIRAL DISEASES; METAGENOMICS AND ENVIRONMENTAL
BIOTECHNOLOGY; BIOTHERAPEUTICS PRODUCTION; MOLECULAR MODELING AND
CHEMINFORMATICS.

ELIGIBILITY : Master’s Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry,
Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or any branch of Physical or Biological or Engineering
Sciences or B.Tech.(Biotechnology/Bioengineering/allied qualifications) with atleast 55%
marks.

XI. CENTRE FOR SANSKRIT STUDIES

(A)            M.PHIL./PH.D. IN SANSKRIT

ELIGIBILITY: Master’s degree in Sanskrit or in an allied subject (with Sanskrit up to B.A.
level) with at least 55% marks.

(B)            M.A. IN SANSKRIT

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor's Degree in Sanskrit or in any other subject under 10+2+3 pattern of
education with at least 45% marks.

XII. CENTRE FOR MOLECULAR MEDICINE

(A) PRE-PH.D/PH.D IN AREAS OF MOLECULAR MEDICINE RELATED TO METABOLIC DISORDERS, INFECTIOUS AND NON-INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND DIAGNOSTICS.

ELIGIBILITY : Master’s degrees or equivalent from recognized University /Institution in any
branch of Biological Sciences / Chemical Sciences / MBBS/ BVSc/ B.Pharm with at least
55% marks.

(C)            INTEGRATED M.SC.-PH.D PROGRAMME IN MOLECULAR MEDICINE

ELIGIBILITY : Bachelor’s degree in any branch of basic or applied sciences (including MBBS
and BVSc.) from recognized Universities and Institutes with at least 55% marks.

XIII. CENTRE FOR THE STUDY OF LAW AND GOVERNANCE
M.PHIL./PH.D. IN LAW AND GOVERNANCE

ELIGIBILITY: Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, Public Administration, Economics,
Sociology, History, Philosophy, Social Work, Development Studies and cognate areas/disciplines
in the social sciences or humanities with 55% marks.

(Category-B)  ADMISSION OF JRF HOLDERS TO M.PHIL./PH.D. AND PRE PH.D./PH.D. PROGRAMME IN SCIENCE SCHOOLS AND CENTRES
The University admits a limited number of candidates to M.Phil./Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D.
programmes on the basis of viva-voce who have qualified a National Test entitling them to a JRF
in Biotechnology; Life Sciences; Physical Sciences; Environmental Sciences; Computer &
Systems Sciences; Computational & Integrative Sciences; Molecular Medicine; and Nano
Sciences.

ELIGIBILITY: For Centre for Nano Sciences: Candidates who have M.Sc. / M.Tech./ M.E. /
B.Tech./B.E. degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade point. Candidates must have
had mathematics at least upto 12th standard or equivalent and have qualified a National Test
entitling them to a JRF are eligible to apply. For other Science Schools/Centres: Only those
candidates who fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for admission of
candidates to M.Phil./Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D. programmes through Entrance Examination under
category A above in above Science Schools/Centres and have qualified a National Test entitling
them to a JRF are eligible to apply.

(Category-C) PART-TIME PROGRAMMES
The University will hold Entrance Examination (in Delhi Centre only) for admission to
Certificate of Proficiency and Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu a one-year Part-
Time Programmes of Study in the School of Language, Literature & Culture Studies. Since these
are Part-Time programmes, these are intended for candidates residing in Delhi NCR
only. Admission to Diploma of Proficiency will be made on basis of the past academic record
of the candidate which will be assessed in accordance with the criteria laid down by the
University for selection.

PROGRAMMES OF STUDY : 1) Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu,
2) Diploma of Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia, 3) Certificate of Proficiency in Mongolian, Bahasa
Indonesia, Urdu and Pali.

ELIGIBILITY: 1. Certificate of proficiency : Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an
examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

2. Diploma of Proficiency : Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an examination
recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and Certificate of
proficiency in the language concerned or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto.

3. Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu: A Bachelor's Degree under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern
of education with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate with Urdu as one of the subjects at High
School or Intermediate or B.A. Level.

GENERAL INFORMATION
FOREIGN NATIONALS: All foreign nationals present in India are required to appear in the Entrance
Examination subject to their fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed for Indian
students as indicated under Category 'A' above. However, in the event of their selection, they
will be considered for admission subject to equivalence of their degrees as per eligibility
requirements.

RESERVATION OF SEATS : 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer).
15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively in all programmes of
study. 3% seats are reserved for Person with Disability candidates (with a minimum of 40%
disability). All SC, ST and Person with Disability candidates who have passed and/or are
appearing in the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance
examination irrespective of their percentage of marks.
Besides, all candidates who have passed qualifying examination prescribed for admission to
the concerned programme of study from the identified backward districts, will be eligible for
deprivation points. All Kashmiri Migrants and wards/widows of certain categories of
Defence Personnel will be eligible for deprivation points subject to their submitting a
documentary evidence of their status (For details, refer to Chapter V of Prospectus). All
female candidates are also eligible for deprivation points. Only those candidates will be
eligible for deprivation points as stated above who seek admission through
Entrance Examination.
PLEASE NOTE THAT: There is a different Application Form for each Category i.e.
Category 'A' and Category 'C' (Admission through Entrance Examination) and
Category 'B' (Admission of JRF holders). Candidates should therefore clearly
indicate on the self addressed envelope, the Category for which the Application
Form is required by them.
For admission through Entrance Examination under Category-A above and
Certificate of Proficiency (Part-Time Programme) under Category-C above,
candidates can opt upto a maximum of three Fields of Study in a single
Application Form for the same level of Programmes i.e. COP(Part-Time) OR B.A.
(Hons.) (1st Year) OR M.A./M.Sc./MCA OR M.Phil/Ph.D.,Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D., M.Tech./
Ph.D., M.P.H./Ph.D., and are not required to submit separate Application Forms for
each field of study. In case a candidate submits more than one Application Form
for the same level of programmes of study, his/her candidature will be rejected.
However, this restriction will not apply to candidates who apply for JRF holders to
M.Phil./Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. programmes under Category-B above and
Diploma/Advanced Diploma of Proficiency (Part-Time Programmes) under
Category-C above. Candidates are required to submit separate Application Form
for each Field of Study for admission to B.A. (Hons.) 2nd Year under category A
above, JRF holders to M.Phil/Ph.D. and Pre-Ph.D./Ph.D. under Category-B above and
for Diploma and Advanced Diploma (Part-Time) programmes under Category-C
above.

HOW TO APPLY : A candidate can apply either “Online” or “Offline”. Online Application:
Candidates can apply Online on payment of prescribed fee if they have access to a
computer, a printer and Internet by logging on to JNU website www.jnu.ac.in. The sites have
been designed in a ‘user friendly’ way to help candidates for applying Online in a step-bystep
fashion. Online application portal will remain open from 10:00 AM (IST) on 6th February,
2015 till 5:00 PM (IST) on 20th March, 2015. Offline Application : Set of Application Form
and Prospectus can be obtained through Post by sending crossed Bank Draft for Rs.300/-
(Rs. Three Hundred only) drawn in favour of JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY payble at
NEW DELHI alongwith a self addressed (unstamped) envelope of the minimum size of 30
cms x 25 cms. clearly indicating the programme of study for which the Application Form is
required on the self-addressed envelope to the SECTION OFFICER (ADMISSIONS), Room
No.28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 110067.
Candidates seeking a set of Application Form and Prospectus from Nepal are required to
send a Demand Draft of Rs.400/- or equivalent in US Dollars. Money Orders and Cheques
are not accepted. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR REQUEST FOR SET OF APPLICATION
FORM AND PROSPECTUS THROUGH COURIER. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO
CASH COUNTER FOR SALE OF SET OF APPLICATION FORM AND PROSPECTUS. BPL
card holders will be issued a set of application form & prospectus free of cost on
submissiion of a copy of the valid BPL card issued by the competent authority showing their
name in the card.

Note:
1. Candidates who are due to appear in respective qualifying examination
prescribed for eligibility for admission to a particular programme are also
eligible to appear in the entrance examination. In the event of their
selection, they will be admitted only if their results of the qualifying
examination are declared before 14th August, 2015 and they fulfil the
minimum eligibility requirements as prescribed in the prospectus.
2. The University does not offer correspondence courses.
3. While the University, on its part, shall ensure timely despatch of Application
Forms soon after receipt of the request from intending candidates, it will,
however, not accept responsibility for any postal delay or irregularity or
loss in postal transit.
4. Any dispute with regard to any matter relating to admission shall be
subject to the jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.
